Hi. Trying to work through the problems I've found with my first jeep KJ.
I've just discovered that water enters the right hand side foot well, and over my foot as I drove. This is a UK car, right hand drive and that's the side that's leaking.
I have read about a gasket on the bulkhead/ firewall between the footwell and engine compartment. However, I can never tell if the references to drivers and passenger sides are for left hand drive or right hand drive cars.
It was mentioned that the four bolts in the engine bay holding on an air conditioning unit are fairly obvious , but I can't see anything like that. Also deep in the engine seems very difficult for water to enter this when the car is stationary.
My question is, what side is this unit, and do I have to remove items to make it visible?
Are there any other possible problems to look for? I don't have a sunroof, and visibly checked around the door and screen.

If you have a sunroof the drains block up, you probably have a load of mud and leaves blocking the scuttle drains, look through the plastic grill under the windscreen.
This is mainly a US site so generally take passenger side as drivers side unless its me or one of the other Brits your talking to.

Thanks. No sunroof, and yesterday I uncovered the scuttle, took the trim right off and got the air gun in there. I didn't see anything untoward, except a couple of old seals, a kind of hardened putty with cracks. I cleaned them off and re sealed. I'd like to tackle anything I can as we have a run of nice sunny days lol
