Hey there pals its been some time since i was on here last, i an electrical issue where when i turn off my jeep the radio OR the wipers will stay on but only one or the other. Also when i lock/unlock the jeep my 4 ways dont flash and the horn dosent beep, this issue came when i floated it across a river and got water in the cabin during winter time 3 years ago now, what could be tied into all of these systems? My jeep has grown alot since then (SAS'D 4.56s double ARBs etc.) So this minor electrical problem has been low on the list as it dosent seem to hurt any thing over time, thanks in advance guys !

I'm not very electronically inclined but sounds like a short more than a bad ground for the radio/wipers. Lights might be a bad ground. Do the light work normal otherwise and does the horn work? Probably took a while for the moisture to cause the damage/corrosion. Have you checked anything yet? Since you took on water, I'd probably pull up the carpet a bit and check the condition of the wires that run on the drivers side floor. I've heard of a few people who found some serious wear and corrosion on them.

That is partly the reason why i never fixed it the radio, wipers, horn, and turn signals work normally when driving, and never fear my jeep is pretty well a trail machine that i daily so i havent had carpet for 4 years. And before i did the SAS i had thought i fixed the problem by cleaning a ground under the drivers seat. But when i finished the SAS the problem came back so i re-tried the ground to no avail, my real question is what else ties all these systems together? Seems like an odd combination.

That does seem like a strange combo. Hopefully some of the more electrically inclined members will help out soon.

Most of these items are driven by the BCM behind the interior fuse panel. The flashing of the hazards horn etc. when locking unlocking is done by BCM programming so maybe that needs to be programmed into the BCM again.

What year/model is your KJ?

Possible partial shorts to ground or shorts to other wiring somewhere in the connectors around the loom. Try open all connectors and clean contacts with a good contact cleaner.

Some connectors are in the engine bay while others are in the cabin ie. at the BCM/Fuse panel or where the harness climbs up from the foot-well to the firewall...on my RHD CRD this is on the left side where my passenger's left foot would be.

Download the manuals for you year KJ here if you do not already have them on hand:
