Weird noise 06 Liberty.

Hello im new here, just wondering if anyone has a opioion on a weird noise my liberty has been doing lately. It's hard to explain but the best way I can explain it is if im driving along at a certain speed it could be 60 or 100km(Canada) at a steady speed I can hear a whistle or a high pitch sound (it's very hard to explain) if I let off the gas or give it more gas it seems to go away, but when im at the steady speed I can hear it again its weird I have heard it for awhile now. It doesn't hurt the performance or anything at all. Thanks


Update, after doing some research and watching a few Youtube video's I think it's a vacuum leak. I will let my mechanic know about it monday when I take it there for a transmission leak, which I think is just a hose. 06 Liberty ive had for 4 years 234,000km.

Sounds like a vacuum pipe but do check your air filter housing is clamped properlt

Thanks, my air filter assembly is fine. I drove it today and it hardly did it at all it's just strange. Doesn't make it run bad or anything I don't know what it is.

Mechanic didn't find anything, hasn't been doing it much lately weird. Might just be a noise you have to live with a 14 year old vehicle. Sometimes as vehicles age they make a few little weird noises.

I have a same sort of noise from my KJ Cherokee , 3.7 also checked all vacuum lines but sounds like might be in transmission , do you have any further updates ?

Mine is still doing it, it comes and goes. I just learned to live with it. Like I said it doesn't affect the jeep in anyway other then being annoying so ill live with it. Like I always say its a JEEP thing lol
