I just had my 91 Jeep Cherokee stolen about a month or so ago... They totalled it and were caught still driving it 3 days later with the plate still on it and a little donut spare on one wheel, lol .. Not too bright ... But who ever said, thieves where smart , heheh !!

Just came across this thread and wanted to wish you well in getting it (or its replacement) back on the road soon. You're not the first one here who had a young 'un walk away from a scary wreck. I think the Liberty's are pretty solid and I'd recommend one to anyone looking for a car for their kid. I'd hate to imagine the same circumstances involving one of today's econoboxes... :blah:

I seen that coming body work is always big $$$ like a previous poster stated maybe mention it to your insurance company you want another liberty. They may be able to get a better deal than a normal person off the street. Well without knowing what year mileage your jeep was i couldnt guess how much you may get.

The settlement was $5894 after my $500 deductible. It was a 2003 with 130,000 miles so I'm pretty happy with it overall. I think for now I'm going to have her drive my '06 WK and get my wife something newer.

Wow thats great jeff you can find a nice liberty for that. On the other hand you could get a near new liberty with a very small loan. Glad they didnt jerk you on it i know it blows but i got my 02 three years ago for $5500 at 115k i am pushing almost 160k now. So i feel if you search around you can find an 02-04 renegade for that much. Like i said you could stretch to a 06-07 with a small loan. Any newer than that will cost you.

I'm not sure yet when I'm going to replace it. I'll probably use some of the money to fix the AC in my WK and have my daughter drive it. My wife wants something newer so this may be a good time to do that.

They were supposed to pick it up from the body shop today. I was there yesterday to get all of the personal items and swap the factory radio back in and pull the Sony out.
