Lots of people do it and don't have problems. Doesn't mean not a lot of people do it and do :emotions34:

I'm sure so long as he's not twisting it up on rocks it'll be fine.

I have yet to see a Cherokee fold in half...so these have a ways to go :happy175:

Our Unibody is stronger than the cherokees as well. Me personally I wouldn't do it regardless, mainly because I'm not a fan of the doorless look

I work in a jeep factory. The doors don't add anything for structure. We bend doors to get the right fit. A good slam can change their shape

I would have to question that. Ever had a rig all twisted up and tried to open/close the door? I've even seen body on frame rigs not be able to close their door when flexed. While by design might not add to the structure, it still helps a little. Just saying.

While it would be cool to rock the KJ doorless offroad for better visibility, I'm not a big fan of 4 Dr rigs without all 4 doors. Looks much better taking the front 2 off.

On a side note, what did u do as far as electrical connections? How heavy are the front 2 doors?

The doors do have strength, to take an impact but they do nothing to stop the uni body from twisting.

Well technically...To an extent they would, albeit nothing major, but they would still stiffen things up. You have 3 attachment points when the doors are closed (striker/latch and 2 hinges), so 6 points per side. Then you have door jamb contact if the unibody twists enough. Granted it won't be a major increase in structural strength, it would be an increase over not having doors. You wouldn't see an increase like you would by having a crossmember with the same amount of attachment points. Or am I just over thinking it?

The doors weren't to heavy, and it was really easy to take them off only took me 20 minutes or so to take them all off. I only had them off for a couple days and didn't go off roading with them off. The only down side to taking all 4 off was that I didn't have any speakers lol so I had to use my portable Bluetooth speaker so I could listen to music. All and all it was fun to have the doors off, my buddy has a jk and he had his doors off so I said to him you know jk's can't have all the fun and had him help me take mine off.

The striker is not considered an attachment point. It's not even supposed to have drag when you shut the door. These three attachment points are "soft" points. The striker mount is a spring nut, so it can be adjustable to the door, with a single weld. They serve a purpose and that's about it. You can hand bend doors like I said before they can take no lateral force from the jams. Think of it this way bottom jam maybe six inches of contact area and maybe one at the top. The door will simply pop out.
