Hello, I have the stock steel wheels on my '04, plastic dipped them a few times but the winter beats up the paint and causes them to chip. So i went ahead and bought these abs plastic wheel covers/ hubcaps, only thing is that they are chrome. Was planning on dipping them black with hopes on better survival on the covers because of the smooth surface and the fact that I can spray them indoors away from the elements.
Any advice to get the plasti dip to bond precisely. Another piece of information- the car will no longer be in winter weather (summers in NY, winters in FL) so that could be helpful in keeping the bond strong.
Should i sand the new covers before spraying?
And also what do you think about doing the 1k mile drive from ny to fl, should i wait to put them on until after i get there, or will the paint make the trip.
Thanks!
