Who is running wheel spacers on stock wheels? I want to see some pics! [emoji16] I like the look of the stock wheels just don't like the sucked in look

I too love the look of these but I've read elsewhere on the site that they are not good for permanent use. Anybody running them constantly without issue?

If you get good spacers like spidertrax or something comparable you will probably never have issues. But you have to think of it like you're doubling the number of lugnuts. That's twice as many nuts that could potentially come loose. There are a couple of members who run spacers full time so wait for them to chime in. But my .02 is that for the extra money you spend on wheels with proper offset you are saving yourself hassle and buying some peace of mind.

My wheels were 75 USD each and since you're in the states you will probably get free shipping. That's not really that much more than a good set of spacers

I'd much rather have wheels with the right backspacing and width than to EVER run spacers , not worth it .
Good spacers are going to run you 200 bucks. The last Moabs I bought I paid that for all 5 then the guy gave me 25 bucks back !

PLUS unless you are lifted , don't know since you didn't fill out your sig, so unlifted can not use them anyways due to rubbing bad.

I've had them on for over 9 years without any issues. Mine are 30mm Hoffmans (German with TUV approval).

I agree that properly backspaced rims are the way to go...
Ok that being said..I've had spidertrax on for years no issues, mainly because I run 17inch OEM rims. Always follow the Spidertrax install directions.

I'm not worried about the potential issues of running Spacers because I've run them on a lifted ford ranger for 5+ years without any issues as well as a lifted Nissan Titan on 36's and -44 offset rims on top of that! As long as they are quality hubcentric Spacers and have them torqued properly you will never have an issue. Huge fan of BORA and SPIDERTRAX. Both are reputable companies I would worry about the spindle breaking prior to the actual spacer lol.

I agree that running proper offset rims is ideal but the extra cost of un-mounting and the re-mounting and balancing the wheels just to get the desired look would just be much quicker and cheaper if done with adapters.

Thanks for the heads up on the fitment issue. My Liberty came with slightly smaller wheels then stock (215) so I may be fine in fitment.

I was just wanting to see some pics of who has ran them so I could get a better idea of what the KJs stance would be!

Thanks for all replies guys!

Gorgeous rig!!!! What size Spacers did you go with? They look like 1.5". You literally have the setup i am going for. Very clean!

What are the details on you build?

Thanks! My WHS-002 Spidertrax are 5x4.5 and 1.25 inches thick. They have changed part numbers by the looks of it.
Here is an example Link: Spidertrax Wheel Spacer Kit for Jeep® Wrangler YJ, TJ, Unlimited, Cherokee XJ, Comanche MJ, Grand Cherokee ZJ & Liberty KJ with 5x4.5" Bolt Pattern | Quadratec
Jeep sits well and drives great with OME lift. Spidetrax help in less body roll, more sure footing!

Depends on what year you have, would be nice if you silled out your sig, hint hinr! but 215/75/16 may have been an optional or rather stock size, my 03 came with that size .
IT ALSO depends on how much sag you have, but most time ( 98% ) unlifted will rub with spacers .
If you're in the 17.5 - 18 range its going to rub.
( measured from center of wheel to bottom of flare )

lol I know, I know. I haven't been near a computer and my Tapatalk app on my phone doesn't allow me to edit my sig [emoji849]

It's a 2004 4x4 I haven't checked the door tag to see if that was the proper size just figured most of the 4x4s came with a slightly larger tire. I will be replacing the struts in the near future as they have never been changed in the 150,000 miles it has.

I've only had it a few weeks and the previous owner neglected it. Already had to pull the entire engine and rebuild it. But she's back up and running [emoji16] horrible job but at least I know it's to my standards

I wanted to keep my body color Renegade wheels, but wanted a wider stance (don't like the wimpy narrow look of the stock wheels). I've been running hub-centric billet adapters for 5 years now, with no issues (as I expected). Not the first time I've used wheel adapters. I highly recommend putting a drop or two of red Loctite on the adapter lug nuts, then they won't come loose.

On wheel studs, not at all. On smaller more fragile bolts, it would help. One drop is really all you need, don't give them a bath in the stuff.

Won't mention names but one blood red 2003 KJ I've worked on numerous times for a friend , you would of laughed.
he did a spacer lift before he got on the forums. When it was time to put on a real lift I wondered why everything was coming off so hard. Yep, he had bathed everything in red loctite. :emotions34::happy175:
