Went out to the White Tank Mountains the other day with a LJ, TJ, JK, and a XJ. It was an interesting time (you'll see why below)!

Had a rock press up the bead causing a loss of air. It managed to re-seat itself no problem, but was scary as he11 hearing a giant gush of air like that:eek: Here the tire is getting filled back up. Luckily the guy behind me had a Warn winch with an aircompresser built into it, it was friggin sweet.

Then is when the fun started. The guy with the XJ had a minor mis-hap.

Really nice pics. Looks like fun, except for the mishap. Did they get it fixed and rolling again??

There's a lot more wheeling opportunities in Az than back East. Even just going for a desert drive can be fun when you get sidetracked.

Ouch - that's painful to look at. It reminds me of Theisman's shin (for those of you who remember...)

Eyehatetofu - time to get some Boulder Bars!

Glad you have rock rails? :D

Didn't touch the "rock rails" this time out. Came close, and in the pic it looks like I'm sitting on them, but its a weird camera angle and the rocks didn't touch them :p

The strap was only a temp fix to keep the axle from dropping down while working on it. The guy with the xj had spares and he swapped out the broken parts, all the while the XJ was at about a 45 degree angle. It was quite the experience. He got it fixed and drove it off the trail and trailered it home.

Nope! Mopar rock rails all the way!!!!!! I'm gonna run em till they become flat. I expect that to only take one more trip!:D

Seriously though, I am getting some done by a local fabricator.

Wow, that's some crowd you're running with!!

BTW... Roland mentioned something to me today about the rock rails you're having made and maybe interested if the $$$ is right. If it is, I may also be interested in a set for my KJ.
