I think you meant to say bumper instead of number, I'll change the title to reflect bumper for you.

Want an honest answer ?
With some work you can mount one of course, anything can be thrown at the front, enough welding and steel it will work.
BUT will it look good and be as strong as an ARB, never
Have seen a bunch that tried to mount TJ bumpers but have not seen one that I would proudly say I owned due to looks

Didn't Matrix make one? Or was that just a brush guard?

Its not a bumper per se, good and solid with good tow points built in, I ran one on the 04 for a while and now on the 03 but not technically a bumper

I got a cheep rock crawler bumper off eBay and Im going to be doing a similar modification as It seems I have more time then money to buy the ARB.
I’ll post pictures of the journey and end results.

Good luck, and make sure you have good strong mounts and tuck it back in close to the body. Don't like the fat lip looks when there is a foot between the bumper and body

I went and bought me an ARB, when the wife finds out I may be sleeping in the jeep for awhile lol.
There are worse things
Went through many other 4x4s and Jeeps over the last 50 plus years of driving ,........and 4 wives
They both come and go , a few you are glad to see go, some you give to your best friend , example my first wife LOL

Is this the JK bumper you are referring to? Might not be nearly as expensive as an ARB but it looks pretty darn good on the Liberty. I'll be mounting it in the next couple weeks, more pictures then.

Got the JK bumper out and played around with it in the sunlight just to see how it fits and sits on the Liberty.

I am not quite sold on this look. It feels like there is something missing here.

JK bumper is also 2" wider on either side than the Liberty and that might be why I think something is not quite right here.

The lines just don't quite line up like I would think they should. Think I'm going to make a couple custom brackets and actually get it attached to the Liberty, possibly narrow it 2-6" on either side to fit the lines of the Liberty better.

Ironically I always wanted the JK bumper on my 2000 Suburban, however a Ford Raptor bumper fell into my lap first and despite being significantly wider than the Suburban, I got it to fit seamlessly.

Hopefully I can get the JK bumper to have a similar fit and finish.

Stay tuned for more shenanigans!

You should go to a "pull-a-part" and replace the driver side fender :)
Neat looking "pickup" though...
Dave

daves06lrenegade,

That's a great idea, unfortunately I am on a budget and pull-a-part is just way too expensive. However I did just pickup an 02 Liberty for $100 two days ago and sold the catalytic converter for $100 yesterday.

Pulled both front fenders and fender flare, grill, headlight bracket/assembly to put onto mine. They are getting prepped for paint: John Deere green. Going to pull the front passenger door off too, my silver window regulator is not working right, it's way easier to just replace the entire door.

Kinda like a pull-a-part but way more fun, completely free and in my own back yard :)

Stay tuned for more shenanigans!

Well, heck! You got an OEM bumper just hanging off that blue beastie too. How much easier can it be?

****** rider,

That's the idea, I pulled the OEM bumper off the blue beastie, lol, and going to bolt it up to the silver one. Theoretically it should bolt right up with no issues whats so ever but the silver one was in an accident: front drivers corner, and I might have to do some body work to get a couple holes to line up.

I am definitely going to start with the OEM bumper first because I really like that cute bubbly look that the JK bumper takes away from the Liberty.

I will play with making a universal bracket for KJ to bolt up other aftermarket bumpers easily, such as the JK or just about any others.

Stay tuned for more shenanigans!
