Windshield

Do 03 Liberty Sports have a upper windshield molding? I bought mine used and it didn't have one and has some rust bubbles in the gap. I am getting the rust taken care of next week. I was just wondering because some of the Liberty pics I have seen don't look like they have any moldings just gaps.

Believe that they stopped using the molding after '02 models.

Bump! Just a very dumb question i noticed when i canvas for windshield in the junk yard nearby it does not have any molding. i don't have any choice because it is the best condition among the jeep windshield available in the junk yard. is it still a good buy? or i just look around somewhere else. Sorry for the dumb question lol just helping out my uncle on his jeep. He does not have enough money to buy a brand new replacement, much more if it is from the dealer.

Does your uncle have glass coverage on his vehicle insurance?

Check safelite online. Then if you live in differ zip codes try each one. Some are cheaper than others. Here in Vegas my 02 front at my house is 400 but at my office it was 210. I asked them why and there is a computer program they use and it is all stats for pricing. Maybe that will help?

Oh and you can reuse the molding, at least I see them do it all the time so if yours is good it should not be an issue.

When I bought mine used at the stealership I asked them about the molding and they told me there isn't any. I checked other KJs and none of them have it.

Chrysler dropped the rubber strip (molding) to save a few pennies, but if you have the windshield replaced by anyone other than the stealership, it's apparently SOP for them to go ahead and add the molding strip that Chrysler originally speced.
