Hi, can anyone with any auto electrical know how help me?
I'm purchasing a device that heats the screenwash water,the main body of the unit connects directly via an inline fuse to the battery there is also a dash mounted switch and i think it is the switch that has to have a feed that only has power when the ignition is on. Do i take a feed from the electrics going to the ignition barrel or do i take a feed from somewhere in the fuse box?. I dont have the unit or instructions until friday and i'm a novice with regards electrics any help or wiring diagrams greatly appreciated.

The first place I would look would be in the fuse box. Sometimes there is an empty slot that can be tapped for power. I wouldn't recommend robbing power from something.

I think they even sell special fuse block taps. Something like this.

If you dont have a sunroof, thats a great circuit to look to. Ignition switched, reasonable capacity.
