If the Jeep came with installed fog lights, the end of turn signal stalk pulls out, when the head lights are turned on. This is the switch to activate the fog lights.
There were two turn signal stalks (multi-function switches) made.
One was for KJ without fogs, no end to pull out, and the other does pull out and has the arrow seen in photo below.

Does it have the little fog symbol on the stick? That would be the tell tale if you have to go looking for wiring/a switch.

The multi-function switch takes the removal of the two screws under the column shroud. That's it. A five minute job, four minutes of which will be spent looking for the right tool. :D

Somebody want to elaborate on what tool they will be looking for? "Security"
Is there a link in the how 2 or a good thread we can link to?

So the ECM doesn't need to be programmed for the fogs?
I thought everything had to be programmed into the ECM.

When I installed my OEM fog lights I did not need to have anything reprogrammed. My Jeep was broken into six months ago, resulting in (among a great many other things) all the electronic control modules in the steering column being replaced. At that point the switch for the fogs no longer worked. They come on and go off with the headlights.

My guess is that they are set to accept fogs as the default, but their behavior can also be changed by the computer. I've been trying for six months to get a definitive answer to that, though.
