If you do accidentally get a little deep with the Sawzall like I did:eek:. You can fill with jb weld and file and it back into shape. Good write up Ifhoward! Probably didn't need to drill the rubber with your mighty press, but it sure doesn't hurt.
Sorry, missed you the diff noise. A good place to start is doing a fluid exchange and inspection for any metal shavings. You could also put it on a lift or jack stands let it idle in drive and or have a friend in the driver seat giving it a little throttle. While you try to zero in on the noise...
Your posts don't bother me, was just an honest question since it seems you're always so negative about your kj and seldom have anything constructive to add. But I hear you, I've certainly had my moments questioning why I spend the time and money on this thing, but then it takes me on an...
Why are you still here? It seems all you do is hate on kj's. They're not perfect, no vehicle is. Yes there are certainly better vehicles just as there are far worse. But if all you're going to do is keep chiming in with, "The vehicles this site are dedicated to are garbage" perhaps you'd be...
Pictures would be helpful. While I have successfully replaced the bushings and ball joint in one of these control arms, I wouldn't ever suggest or try it again. The way they are built makes it nearly impossible without bending or collapsing the arm. And thats if there is no rust or other...
I used ethanol free gas in mine consistently for about a year and the fuel burp went away immediately. Something about the ethanol swelling the check valve seal. Im now back to using the standard 10%ethanol we're having to use and I haven't had an issue since. But if you want that gm check valve...
It's not very noisy at all. When there is a noise, yes you hear it. Which is actually a good thing because there are no doubts if something is amiss. It's hard to put into words I think, but it just feels so solid!
I have it on mine. I opted for the heim joints instead of bushings and it is very solid and allows for more down travel (flex). I'm very happy with mine.stock arm inhibited down travel
Yes using adapters from a ball joint press kit. I'm not suggesting it, but it actually felt pretty secure. I also did a makeshift safety net around the whole press and shock with ratchet straps. So if it came loose it wouldn't go flying.
Your setup looks just fine how it is. Perhaps you're right about the fresh spring isolators causing slightly less room for the spring currently. Sure there's not a big gap between each coil, but if you add up all those gaps that's more travel than the shock is capable of, which is exactly what...
Clean iac and throttle body, also check air filter and clean air flow sensor. May not fix your problem, but is really inexpensive and certainly wouldn't hurt any.
