The Export Models like my 2002 Export CRD have a k.n.o.b. inside the cabin that I can rotate to raise or lower the headlights. Very useful if I have a heavy load in the rear at night so I can lower the beams and not blind the oncoming traffic!;)
Have you downloaded the 2002 Jeep KJ Service manuals? Section 8W has the Wiring Diagrams.
Check that this tan and orange wire is not grounding to chassis anywhere and each wire has continuity end to end!
I have seen posts like this where the wiring to the PCM is fine but the PCM had blown...
Yeah definitely test all the grounds as mentioned. Check the battery grounds and the two grounds from the rear of the heads to the Firewall. Your problem seems to be all over the place which tends to eliminate a single bad wiring section. The Wiring Diagrams will show the ground points for the...
The last 2 Alpha characters ie. AB or AC is just a revision number where some slight improvement has been introduced as compared to say an AA character.
Same with all parts from Mopar.
Lost is very much alive....but a fair amount of KJs no longer are still alive!
WWdiesel is very active there....knows his Electronics very well....almost as good as me LOL!;)
I keep one ignition key plus the seperate keyfob hidden under my Jeep in case of an emergency....occasionally swapping them over with the other set.
Both keys and the tumblers are worn out after nearly 20 years of usage but I find it weird that I have not had to replace batteries yet in either...
If the motor is not turning over:
Check the Battery Cables are clean and tight on the Terminals.
Check the Negative battery lead going to chassis/engine is clean and tight.
Check the two cables coming off the rear of the heads on the V6 going onto the Firewall are clean and tight.
Take a...
Put the Jeep in Park and Neutral at the same time...either one will do the trick but one might not be working.
You can remove the Actuator Pin assembly then with the key in the Ignition Slot to enable Skim and disable Steering Lock, rotate the Ignition Switch itself with a small flat...
Yeah when my one Intercooler hose blew with a 6 inch split I taped it up with Duct tape until I could get to the Dealers!
Download the Jeep KJ Service Manuals here...no 2004 model but the MAP Sensor will be in the same place no matter what year KJ you have...
Definitely worth getting Silicone hoses to replace the black rubber ones!
I know you can get these hoses in different colors Overseas. I have not seem them here in SA and in any case my 2002 2.5 Export CRD has narrower hoses..apparently available by ordering Online but I have not gone that...
Check the Battery Cables are clean and tight and the Ground Battery lead going to ground is clean and tight.
If it is a Gasser then there are 2 straps grounding the rear of the heads to the Firewall...make sure they are clean and tight.
Get a pair of thick Jumper cables...clamp one end of the...
I know on the KJs the Hood Switch was only fitted on the Export Models like my 2002 CRD. Is on the right side of engine bay facing upwards to hit onto the lowered Hood..sets of the Horn if hood is pried open while doors are locked.
The Dorman Actuator is usually recommended here and other KJ sites.
I personally have not had a problem with this part on my 2002 Export CRD!
I have no idea who "Dorman" is but if I ever need a new Actuator Pin Assembly I will definitely Google them!
I know that years ago the Dealers did not...
I know on my Export 2002 2.5 CRD I had major black smoke and little power when one of the Turbo Hoses developed a large split....also when one Turbo Hose popped off the Intercooler due to a loose hose-clamp.
I also get some black smoke when accelerating hard....a good clean of the MAP Sensor...
We cannot get hold of the 2007 KJ manuals but all the previous years manual such as the 2006 KJ tell you that the flywheel is slightly curved....place a long flat edge across it.
They state that fine scratches can be cleaned off with some abrasive paper but machining it flat is a definite...
The two wires coming off the rear of the heads to the Firewall have definitely been proven in lots of posts to be the reason for engine not turning over so I would recommend that you do check them.
Take a very thick pair of cables such as the Jumper Cables that have heavy duty clamps on each...
