What did you do to your Jeep today? -Wrangler Edition-

I still got the stock dampener. I've read about some dampeners making it pull, but I'll probably have to replace the stock one eventually. I don't think I'm going to do trackbars until the stock ones are bad. LCAs, maybe maybe not, it drives great. The lift install is pretty easy for just...

What did you do to your Jeep today? -Wrangler Edition-

Installed the Dynatrac 2" Endurosport lift this weekend. Quadratec showed a 5-6 week back order and Northridge showed it as discontinued, so I ordered it and it showed up 3 days later, so that was awesome. Install went smooth, loosened all the control arms front and rear and retorqued on the...

    Suspension Sag Measurements

I'll measure mine today or next time I have it in the garage on flat ground. I think mine has some sagging going on, especially from the winch (added a 3/4" spacer up front but still think it sags). My understanding is that there's no such thing as "Rubicon" springs, but that higher optioned JLs...

Johnny O's 2020 Rubicon Build - KHAAAAAN! the ScienceMobile II

Congrats! Welcome to the JL Club! It's the only thing Jeep makes now that can kind of replace the KJ! (But I still love my KJ!)

Survey on AT tires being used

Neither of them took hardly any weight and they both ride very smooth. I'd honestly go with whatever you can get a better deal on and which you can get sooner if you're in a rush. I'd say the Toyos are a tad more aggressive than the Nokains.

What did you do to your jeep today?

Just pull the skid plate off, I had a 10mm socket live there for a few months before I pulled the skid and found it.

Disconnect front sway bar links off road?

Never have. I've wondered about running a rubicon sway bar from a JK or JL on the KJ though, but probably isn't worth the effort and/or risk of damaging something. I worry about over extending and breaking a brake line or a CV.

Survey on AT tires being used

Toyo Open Country AT3s. Have them on both the JL and KJ. And the Nokain Outpost ATs on the LR3. All are great tires, I'd say the Toyos are a little more aggressive and do better off road, but still are very quiet and light weight. The Nokains are silent on road and ride great.

Front LCA boot / ball joint replacement

That's a rip. Take the knuckle out and buy a new ball joint and take the knuckle to a shop to have them press it out and the new one in. Should be like $100 per side with parts.

    Can I pull a Trailer?

Towed a 6x12 uhaul from FL to WI and had no issues. The KJ was pretty stable at highway speeds. 8 MPG though!

Swing gate swap not working properly

Try disconnecting the sensor. It's right by the latch for the glass. Is it saying the glass is open or the tailgate is open?

Best place to buy a radiator?

I've had 4 radiators in my KJ since it left the factory in July of 04: 1. Factory lasted till 8 years old/108k miles (replaced in 2012) 2. Napa radiator lasted 5 years/60k miles till 168k (2017) 3. Mopar radiator lasted about a week before developing a huge leak at the bottom 4. Mopar radiator...

Swing gate swap not working properly

The sensor for the flipper glass in mine went bad and did the same stuff - always thought it was open, alarm going off, lights on etc. Just unplugged it and it's been fine since. Nothing seems impacted by it, still locks normally.

    200,000 mile club

They are Moab wheels off a TJ Rubicon - tire size is 245/75/16. They are a little wider and sit out a little further than stock.

What he said! I just run straight Dino 85w140 in mine, no mixing. No issues even in the frigid temps.
