    Took Got another estimate, and they quoted me $1,200 to do the bearings, axle seals, etc. and $1,700 if the ring and pinion also need to be done.

    Got the brake fluid done last week, and I'll be dropping my car off at a driveshaft shop to have the differential checked out. I'm riding with the fiance to spend Christmas in San Diego, and I'm looking forward to sipping margaritas on the beach while the rest of y'all freeze!

    Well turns out the whine noise is coming from my rear differential. The mechanic I took it too said that it's going to need to be rebuilt and that it would cost between $1,800 to $2,400. I'm going to take it to another place and see what they say, but definitely was not expecting a repair like this.

    Got my oil changed and new Kumho AT52s put on. Old tires were 245/70/R16, and I went down to the 235/70/R16 to save a little on gas.     Changed the oil today. I was super frustrated because the previous owner overtighted the oil filter, so I could not get it off. Now I’m off to the closest AutoZone to buy an oil filter wrench.
