Just because they have been in business for 30 years, doesn't mean they know anything about KJs/KKs. They may know TJs, JKs, WJs, and ZJs inside out, but I doubt they have much experience with the KJ. Heck 30 years, they may not know much about any jeeps. I've seen guys in my field twice as...

ESP and Limited slip diff compatability?

Why would you want to use a clutch based LSD that has clutches to wear out faster, and still limited on Detroit/Eaton Truetrac would be my choice. It's more forgiving than a clutch based LSD, as the clutch types are loaded all the time, where as the DTT isn't.

Pressure test isn't the same as a block test. Two different things. Most parts stores sell block testers. They test for the presence of carbon monoxide, a byproduct of combustion in the cooling system.

Anyone on here have a Ford Explorer? Advice needed, please help.

Most fleets are leased these days, and lease companies aren't like they used to be. They won't spend a penny more than needed. Have someone who knows how to check the trans fluid check it and see if it needs serviced.

Do an engine block test. You don't know how long the problem existed before you bought it. There is a good possibility that the headgaskets could be blown, or a cracked head. Make sure your radiator fan does work, though it won't cause an overheat going down the road(common failure). Also, a...

You would, or should only be engaging the 4wd if you needed the extra drivetrain traction. If you drove into a blizzard such as that, with snow piled on the road, you'd be facing a loss of control. Ok, war story time. Your scenario has actually happened to me. Early 2007, I was running a...

Circumference. Yes, its not very much, and why it is important to buy tires as a set, and keep them rotated. There's backing behind this as well

On the 4wd, the way it detects slippage, is by monitoring the speeds of the driveline, front and rear. If it sees that one axle is spinning a certain amount faster than the other, it considers that slippage. It then tightens the clutches, etc to basically lock the t-case. If there is more...

Naaw, you mean you didn't know what you are talking about, you tried to debate it with the teachers, and you didn't like the outcome. I referred to you as acting like a troll due to your posting demeanor. You mentioned getting info from guys at a dragstrip, to which I told you that is not a...

I'm just trying to visualize someone doing 50mph on snow on the highway, and all the sudden they feel the need to use 4wd. What could possibly go wrong? lol

It seems to me the OP is either trolling, baiting, or both at this stage. That's my thought at least. The OP asked a question, numerous people with a lot of knowledge have answered his questions, to which he did not like the response. No less than three, more than that most likely skilled...

Fords, even though they may have an oil gauge, they only have a dummy switch on the engine, just like for a warning light. It's either on, or not, so anything over 4psi, and the gauge shows a reading. Been that way for 3 decades+ now. The 4.0L has some weak points. Number one issue we see, is...

Some boys don't get it. I better stop feeding the troll now while I'm ahead. Doesn't sound like you need us anyways. You got Ricky Bobby and Billy Bob at the drag strip for your info. Ask them why they only build a Chevy 350. They'll give you the canned answer, but the truth is, it's what...
