There isn't an issue using RTV in addition to the gasket. You have a good point thats its never a good idea to use too much RTV. People have been using only RTV in similar situations for many years and most often use too much, typically there isn't an issue.
I do believe that the pitting is...
As far as I know, the BCM controls the relay, and the switch tells the BCM what to do. But yes, I guess my switch was going bad and was messing with the BCM.
What are you working on?
On my 04, I was able to push the rear of the shaft (tcase end) up above the tcase and towards the rear of the Jeep so I could get the front out and down. Then it came right out.
From what I understand, some years are more difficult than others. No idea what years are...
Good luck with that. Rockauto is 100% automated, there are no people to talk to. You can fill out a thing saying you got the wrong part, but you have to ship the wrong part back (on their dime) and they will ship you another once you ship that part back. Just went through this.
Ive replaced 3 heater cores/evap cores in 3 different Jeeps (no KJ's yet) and its really not a BAD job. Time consuming, yes, but I try to give myself plenty of time so I can enjoy it. I typically set aside a week or so and will work on it in the evenings as I can. I thoroughly enjoy working on...
Often times I will stop and use the self serve spray in the middle of winter, just to get the salt off the underside. I don't spray the paint though. I know the owner of the car wash and verified they DO NOT reuse any of the water. Most car washes MUST recycle some of the water... Cant get much...
Must be different carwashes in other states. The car washes around here are no different than my garage, except they're open on both ends instead of just one. If anything, I would think the shade and water blasting on the vehicle from 360 degrees would cool the engine down.
Tachdad may be on to...
If I were replacing a compressor, I would also replace the accumulator and flush the entire system. You can rent the flush kit from autozone, I use denatured alcohol to flush it. Then I would add the exact amount of oil that the FSM calls for into each component. Otherwise, its just a guess on...
Speaking of the press and hold method, TJKJ use to say that you shouldn't press the brake pedal down further than it would normally travel. No idea if it will cause an issue, but the theory is it will damage the seal in the master cylinder since there is typically a ridge in the bore where the...
Everything here has 'up to 10%.' Been that way for many years.
I've never seen 88 octane though. We have 87, 91, and 93. I'll use 93 when towing for obvious reasons.
