    Diff noise

If you can't find the tag, you can put marks on the ring gear and the pinion flange side, and spin the pinion. Little over 4 turns for the 4.10s or less by a 1/4 turn for the 3.73s. Granted this is a lot easier when it's out of the vehicle.

What did you do to your jeep today?

Thanks, I added the fog lights in the grille and in the bumper, ran a separate relay and power wires for them that will be big enough if I decide to upgrade to some higher power ones later on. Not sure if I'll keep them all, but had them and figured I'd see what it looked like. I welded flange...

What did you do to your jeep today?

If you end up going that route and like a finer texture of bedliner, raptor in rattle can worked nice on my frankenstein wrangler bumper project. I just used a standard rattle can that they had in the store, but they sell a 2k in rattle can which would be even more durable. I'm thinking of...

What did you do to your jeep today?

Couple times a week at least! 1-2 shift in this feels slower than any other manual I've owned, my clutch hydraulics starting to act up aren't helping either lol. Yes, and downshift coming up to stops! And when not towing my trailer, I like to leave an extra long hitch that implies please...

    4.7 or 5.7 Swap

After owning two ls1's and swapping a ls1/t56 into an fc rx7 after I blew up the dorito's motor with a buddy, I have to go with tom's answer on lsx. If something happened to the 3.7 in mine, that'd be the route I'd take, then I'd be back to a familiar engine to work on lol. My reason being is...

help me figure out My jeep exhaust

X2 on this i haven't heard a Flowmaster sound good on a v6 that hasn't had major engine work done I put a mbpr exhaust on my last tj I had when my exhaust rusted out, it sounded too ricey/import for my taste. I dealt with it since I spent the money, but hated myself for choosing that one.

    2004 Jeep Liberty “Jessie”

I've used royal purple gear oil for a long time, about 5 years ago switched to redline. I run a heavier weight since I tow weekly, some weeks daily. You will not win a tommudd approved sticker using synthetic though, I still sleep fine at night in the non approved club ;)

How Do You Know When to Wash the Jeep?

Looks great! If you'd like more longevity, have you tried synthetic sealants or ceramic coatings yet? Price wise have come way down, and can still be top coated with some carnuba! I have to move again and will be losing my garage, I'll be doing a ceramic coating to the kj soon!

So, what do you do when your travel vehicle dies?

hft has many hidden goodies that are quality for the money, or just things at a right price that just need to work one time. grab their marine heat shrink if you haven't tried it, it's heavier wall thickness and got the waterproofing melty goo built right in!

    My journey with the KJ

I was happy to find it for less than an arm and a leg! The resale on them seems to be like toyotas around here haha!

What did you do to your jeep today?

Over the past couple evenings I ran a 4ga power wire for a mini sub I had from my last truck, and future power inverter Drivers Side near main harness is a clip that pops out. There is one on the passenger side too, I'll be running future other wires through that one too I'm sure. Hole was...

    My journey with the KJ

I was going to keep plugging away at that stereo install, but had to make a pit stop as a great deal on a machinist tool box popped up, and I'm slowly gathering up every bargain on hobby machining equipment that I can to eventually have a couple little machines with some tooling. So I put some...

    My journey with the KJ

Decided to start running power wire tonight for my little 8" slim sub/amp combo, and going to do a 800w or 1000w inverter shortly down the road. Limited places to do it without drilling, I chose the area on the drivers side, to the lower left of where the main harness goes through the firewall...

2003 2.4L Liberty. Lost clutch pedal today. Assume line blew out. How hard is it to replace clutch cylinders?

The engineer that made it so you can't even get the lid off the master cylinder on these kj's needs a swift kick in the nuts. I did one for my tj which obviously had loads more room. I was able to buy a unit pre-bled all assembeled, just had to get it all in there and was good to go. Let us...

What did you do to your jeep today?

I never wanted to be a jack of all trades until I realized big companies charge $100-$200 an hour for messing everything up where I live. So this isn't exactly what I did to my jeep today, but my jeep took me here to work and the problem still applies to vehicles, which is why I wanted to share...

So, what do you do when your travel vehicle dies?

In a world/time with so much overpriced stuff, it's great to find bargains. Especially when brand new things that are overpriced, don't live up to the expectations or even get honored in their warranty. There's a list of once great american companies I've bought a lot from in the past that fall...

    Bolt-on upgrades

If you're able to find entire axle housings/assemblys for a gear upgrade, that'll be your best bet of a bolt on upgrade that you can feel. Or gear swap in general, but that's a lot more measuring and it's less of a bolt on mod.
