Transmission swap
I have a 2005 3.7 auto with the 42RLE Transmission. It needs replacing. Will the Liberty KK series 42RLE transmission fit the earlier model. Are any mods required to fit it. I’m looking at buying a unit with the transfer case attached, but is that necessary?- HoppyKJ

Info re KK to KJ engine swap required please.
I have a 2006 KJ Liberty/Cherokee 3.7 auto here in Australia. The engine is dying and I’m looking at the possibility of fitting a later secondhand 3.7 from a KK. Has anyone done this and what’s involved please. I understand the vin is important in this, so it’s 1J8GM58KX5W675812. Any advice...- HoppyKJ
