I have s 2006 KJ Liberty/Cherokee here in Oz.
Monumental head gasket failure for second time, so looked for another used motor.
Bought a Dodge Nitro 2011 motor from a wrecker.
Changed the exhaust manifolds over as the EGR system is different.
Then swapped the inlet manifold complete with throttle body, ignition coils (as Jeep uses 6 and the Dodge 3, plus the injectors for completeness.
This essentially “retro-specified” the later Dodge motor to earlier Jeep standards.
The only hiccup was that I had to make a blanking plate to block off the EGR entry point to one cylinder head inlet chamber as it wasn’t needed on the earlier motor system. 10 minute job.
If runs fine.
