I left mine bare but sanded really well. I guess it depends on your interior color but I really like how mine looks without the carpet. Plus, it's easier to clean when something gets on it.- Clyde Frog

Buying Used KJ - what should I look out for?

I took the side steps off of my 03 Rene. IMO, it would probably cheaper just to repaint them. For the amount you would pay for them to be shipped to you, I don't think it would be worth it. I'd offer mine but one of the brackets is bent from off road. Rock bait :D- Clyde Frog

Actual Lift Amount - Lets Compare Fender Heights
I'm at roughly 18" all the way around on stock suspension. 2003 KJ Renegade with 91k. Only thing I've got on there is OEM skids and OEM light bar. A lift is in my future :)- Clyde Frog

If the Libby's off road performance is sub par, I think you'll find the FJ much less satisfying and the Rubicon's clearance will seem great until you find more challenging trails and obstacles. I think the thing to remember too is that the different Jeep models target different consumers. The Wrangler is really their flag ship ORV.
