To save yourself grief i would follow toms direction. the 06 07 don't have a tone ring on the carrier and rumors are the axles are also different. am i headed to a transmission rebuild?
when you went to the dealer they may have relearned the trans. It will be clunky for a while. Would still do checks on all the rear control arms (bad bushings) and a filter change on trans. ATF +4, nothing else.- Cardhu

When I buy new for myself its from cost going way more than payments on the new vehicle or that I need a different vehicle. What's kicking around in your Jeep?
Used to be in jeep but now in Ram boxes. Sockets, shovel, tire pressure gauge, 2 snatch straps, 3 clevis shackles, a dozen ratchet straps, kids toys, torque wrench, breaker bar, hitch related towing stuff. Lifejackets, raingear, a 5 gallon bucket full of drills , impact, screws wood scrap.- Cardhu

The 07 doesn't have a tone ring on the carrier like the 05 and older, and rumor has it the axles are also different. Axles not confirmed. Not sure if you buy a DTT or other aftermarket carrier if the 07 axles can be reused.- Cardhu

Have you got the JBA UCA extension? I never ran one and had vibes underload even after i had driveshaft balanced and several sets of ujoints before that. dropped it down when sold and no vibs at all.- Cardhu

CV front driveshaft blew on the trail!
you can also jack up one of the front wheels under the lower control arm and rotate the pinion without risking a run away jeep and yet accessing all of the bolts. I found compressing the pinion side of the driveshaft to move the Transfer case end up and to the drivers side was best to fit the...- Cardhu
