Pulled off a 05 KJ a few months back. I haven't gotten around to installing it on mine, and I still really want to but also need some cash.
Everything included for install, less a few bolts that go into the rivnuts and the tool to install them (a trip to your local hardware store will remedy...
I managed to finally get over there and retrieve the light bar. Wasn't too bad, but I have come to the conclusion that there is a special place in hell for nutserts. Had to tear up a decent amount of sheet metal inside to get access to one that was spinning. The other was easy enough to get vice...
I need to replace my lower control arm bolts, buy some JBA upper control arms as I am burning through moog ball joints, and replace my rack and pinion bushings. Not even a little bit looking forward to it.
I just found out how much crap one has to go through to get a lightbar uninstalled from one liberty and reinstalled onto another....
I have the instructions so I'm pretty sure I can grab all the parts needed to install it (off a wrecked liberty) but I won't have the template.
That being...

So I know all the aftermarket units suck. But I'm wondering what is crappy about them? I tried to replace the bushings in my stocker and it pretty much disintegrated. I have a Moog ball joint and Moog bushings now. Is the problem with the aftermarket arms the bushings? Or is the issue in...
As mentioned your driving habits do need to change some. I went with the lock right specifically because it was supposed to be more quiet than the competitors, but it's for sure still audible.
My vendor is looking at getting me a Detroit now, going to cost about 200 more when it's all said and...
My LSD will be for sale once I get it out. I'd let it go for $50 plus shipping. You won't have to mess with the pinion, the pinion depth is more for a "gear set" than it is the carrier. So you would swap your ring gear to the new carrier and then adjust the shims on either side of the diff...
From what I can gather the people that have them installed think they are fine. If they ever go with a full carrier or selectable they suddenly think the lunboxes are crap. It's about a 50/50 spread. So I decided to see for myself.

The way the tag read (when it was still on) made me believe it was an open diff. Pretty sure at some point in its life the diff needed service and the carrier was replaced with an LSD. I didn't check the wheels, easy step that I missed. But its a bare bones 5spd sport, wouldn't have bet in a...
No, only that it isn't a full on locker. I did get some diff chatter from time to time but usually only when it's super cold outside.

It's a lunchbox locker, so nothing would need to be touched professionally so to speak. It just replaces the side/spider gears in the carrier. And I'm trying to do this as cheap as possible, so if I don't HAVE to pay anyone for something I am going to do my best not to.

Hey guys. I bought a lock-right locker to install into my 8.25. Come to find out I have a LSD, and the lock-right isnt going to work. I'm purchasing an entire rear axle (open diff) from my buddys junk liberty with 90k (60 less than mine). Im trying to guage whats more of a pain in the ass...
Alright, so I went to install my Lock Right in my rear diff earlier today. Turned out to be an all day project. I have an LSD in my liberty, which blows my mind because its a 5spd sport that does not even have cruise control. I remember looking at the tag on or next to the diff a long time ago...
Yay old thread resurrection! Hit 160k on my lib and have replaced both of the front hubs. Thinks the rears are do, if not probably soon. I'm going to be installing a locker so I wanted to take care of these at the same time. Was looking at the Timken item on the bottom, just wanted to confirm...
