Its a big oily mess so I'm inclined to replace the high pressure hose along with the pump, as its not that much more work once we get things apart. When I was first researching bushing lifts, most had the replacement upper mount, thereby lowering the entire assembly. Yep, you were absolutely correct. One question of clarification... for these bushing lifts. The result of the lift kit is to increase the length of the spring assembly from the upper mount, to where it bolts to the lower control arm, this in turn lifts the vehicle. Problem(s) were loose Upper control arm bolt and blown shock coupled with stacked springs. Coils were hitting on larger bumps. The guy I bought it from said he had just replaced all the ball joints. I also jacked it up and applied pressure to the tire with a long pry bar to see if I could get something to move... the only thing that did move was the UCA attachment points, they clearly moved in and out on the bolt...- DallanC

LOL... to be clear, I did not do this. Bought it that way, it is for my highschool boy... It rides ok around town, I dont doubt the coils are hitting on big bumps... but he doesnt off road so it shouldnt happen too much. But the spring sag comment brings up a good point. 2003 KJ, loose upper control arm bolts?
I didn't notice any spacer lift on the coils when I was under it... but it does seem to sit fairly high. It has 245/70R16 tires on it. Here's a picture of it: I have replacement springs/bushings/mount combo on order, should be here Friday. Now I'm worried maybe it had special lifted springs...- DallanC

Sure thing, thanks. The jeep has 178,000 miles. We've owned it for a year and a half, everything was fine until about a week ago (according to my boy). Thanks for the replies, Yep I torqued it down with the full weight of the vehicle on the arms. I do plan to get it aligned but not until we track down / solve the issue. My kid only drives it a short distance each day to school and work. If any tire wear becomes apparent we can do the redneck...- DallanC
