0/5/2024 - Replaced my starter because the one I installed last year failed. At least it was under warranty. That didn't take the sting out of having to do it again. Replaced the starter relay.
0/6/24 - Removed the stuck disk out of my CD player. I may disassemble it today to see why a disk...
I may have finally resolved my issues but I'm not counting my chickens before they hatch. The day before yesterday I got it home. I disconnected the battery cables overnight and the next day after reconnecting them I tried it. It wouldn't start. So I crawled under it and gave the starter a few...
Hey, KLC, I tried switching the relays around and that didn't work. I then bypassed the relay and I got it started but I had to finagle the jumper wire a bit before it started turning over. I then shut it off and put the relay back in and it started again. I shut it off once more and it didn't...
Hey, folks. I have a new problem. I went to town today and made a stop at Lowe's. My Jeep started just fine when leaving there. I then went to the grocery store and when I came out, my Jeep wouldn't start. When I turn the key, everything works. It just isn't cranking over. I get nothing. I just...
Okay! I got the bushing in place. 4WD is working. I dropped the bushing once and it appeared to have completely vanished. I found in on top of the cross member. I also found the clip I dropped the other day on it.
Thanks, everyone for your input regarding this issue.
It's at the transfer case. There's just no way the part I got is going into the eyelet on the end of the shift rod. The diameter is way to big. I went to O'Reilly Auto Parts and I think I got what I needed. I"ll find out tomorrow when I attempt to install it. At least the Jeep is mobile now.
I got my Jeep moving. The part I ordered was wrong. I ordered the JL1Kit1 as suggested above. It was way to big to go into the hole for the pin. The part I need is only the center bushing. It's like the part in this video.
Anyway, I decided to try something just to get it to go. I put the...
I had to wait for the rain to stop but I finally got under the jeep to take a look and it is indeed the linkage is disconnected. I was trying to get a hitch pin on it to hold it in place so I could at least move it. It's very tight in there and I couldn't get a good angle to push it on. I'm...
So, I've got the Jeep on jack stands but I can't seem to find where the transfer case linkage is. I may be looking in entirely the wrong place. Any help identifying the location is greatly appreciated.
Okay, here's the issue. I was having difficulty shifting in and out of four wheel drive the other day. Today I had to move my Jeep to shovel snow, so I backed down the driveway. I then attempted to put the transmission into four wheel drive. I moved the shifter and there was tension on it then...
I'm sorry to hear that you have this issue because you may not want to hear this. I don't want to put a scare into and here's hoping it's not the case but but do you smell coolant? Monitor your coolant level and see if it goes down. It may be imperceptible at first. I had that same issue last...
I replaced the clock spring a couple of weeks ago.
Replaced the heater blower motor resistor today. The fan works on all four speeds now for the first time in years.
I installed a new clock spring. I watched a video on Youtube on how to do it. It took the dude in the video a few hours to get the steering wheel bolt off so I was a bit apprehensive. He finally got it off with an air impact. I removed the air bag, two screws and three wires and the nut turned...
