05 Liberty key/remote

I recently purchase an 05 Liberty Limited. I did not like the Huge key with the remote all-in-one. I purchased a jeep key with a transponder and was able to program it to work. My question is...... can I buy a seperate remote for the keyless entry? I notice they're availabe for the 04 Libertys. Does anyone know if that remote would work on my 05?? Does anyone know if it will definitely not work?? Thanks for any help

My plan was to get the key like you did, and I wanted (at some point) to install an aftermarket remote starter/keyless entry system and use that fob.
