My Kj has 17" Chrome Clad wheels, which I would like to get rid of.

What other Jeep OEM wheels came in 17" that would directly fit onto my KJ ?
Did KK or new Liberty have 17 inch available at some point?
If you have 17" rims please post photo of what they look like & give me year/ info etc..Please!!
This would be helpful in searching CL here...
Are any other aftermarket brands to recommend that are not huge expensive?

AFAIK - all Limiteds' had 17" - Some were chrome or chrome covers.. Mine are the 17" aluminum, with the ****** clear coat/silver paint. repainted w/ Duplicolor.

Just out of curiosity why would you not go down to 16? Trying to keep your tires?

PS - these are my favorite 17" for the KJ:

Marty the tires yes and and I like the 17's. Those rims on the site are $190 each
I'm going to need 5 if I replace them. I would like to find a deal let's say on Craigslist.
Did those above wheels come available on KK as well?

TC, is it the chrome you don't like, or the style?

If it's the chrome, you could have them blasted and powder coated

I have the ones the Dude posted. They are called the Dakar.

Then 03 Freedom editions had those Dakar rims but in graphite:

Then there are the Oasis chrome ones, optional on 05+ Limiteds

And then the KK 17s. I don't know the name but I could check my brochure.

The optional KK Limited wheels were 18s. Then they had 20s available.

I have got oasis chrome on my 05. Didnt like them to start with but with a bit of cleaning of the wheels and the grill I dont mind the chrome now.
Having said that some is peeling in places and I will be going with some powder coated dakars from craigslist. I figure the longer I wait the cheaper they will be.

Both actually. The chrome is not real chrome they are chrome clad meaning a plastic cover over them or on top of spokes, so u can not blast them.
The dirt /brake dust sticks in the back of the gap on plastic & drips down.
Just a fine design these are. If ya go into mud..so much for your balance. You would not believe what came out in the rear plastic gaps in those rims.
Power washing while on jeep does not attack the build ups. U have to remove the rims for proper cleaning. what a PITA.
There are no 17 inch 5x4.5 rims on CL..I will be looking for a while.. :whip:

My Durango had that same style of "chrome" covering, it did the same thing with brake dust. Never knew about the mud thing as it was 2WD.

But with the Dakar style, I've never had that issue.

I have an 06 Limited with the 6 spoke clear coated silver/chrome finish
There are a few options if you're planning on staying with 17" wheel.

I'm about to purchase 5 black rock vipers (4.5" BS) and step up to a 245/75R17 Duratrac. Have you tried using summit racing and or tread depot . Com to shop around?

Why not get some adapters and jk 5 spoke 17's? Aren't you running spacers already?

car-part.com is a great place to search for used wheels in good shape. I use blackburns a lot, but I don't know if they sell publicly.

Short answer, yes. I believe they're 5x5, so you'd need 5x4.5 to 5x5

Just make sure you buy quality built spacers. If anyone has a link to a nice set I'm sure they'll chime in. Do you plan on putting a different set of tires on those wheels?

Is that your nice way of saying I will need a lift to run those? Lol

These just popped up on craigslist and I think I can get them for a good price, but if not I plan on getting an OME lift first.

Considering those tires are about 32" tall, yes. If you buy them then plan to lift, I'd say go 245/70/17. Plenty of tire options out there as compared to the other size and plenty of tire for the KJ. If you want to run a tire that tall, plan on spending some dough on your KJ.

Thanks. Think I'm going to stick to the plan of getting the lift situated first then start looking at wheels/tires.
