In my 2003 Jeep Liberty sport I took out the factory stereo and replaced it with a new JVC single DIN head unit. I have the correct plug and I got the noBUS on the odometer which doesn't bother me but all my gauges had stopped too so after reading up I realized that this happens and I'm to buy a module for steering wheel controls. I've never used steering wheel controls in my life and I don't want to start now. How do I bypass this without losing my gauges and temperature light and things like that that are definitely important, including the fuel gauge lol? I don't need the module correct If I'm not using steering wheel controls so how do I know what wire goes to what wire in relevance to the old module? Any help would be greatly appreciated

Surely if you just buy the interface for steering wheel controls plug it in and just use the stereo controls it will be easier than trying to modify the wiring loom?

Did I mention I'm broke lol, where would be the least expensive place to order the right one and still have it be the correct plug? I thought about doing that but at $100 for a little plug I was just debating whether or not it was easier or if it was necessary but if I can get it at a decent price then sure I would try that.

Owch! Didn't realise they were that expensive. I'm just stopping for lunch, I'll have a look at the wiring diagram and see if it's easy, can't promise anything.

Do you have a Limited with the upgraded sound system? If so you will also have amplifiers in the doors to deal with. Typically the remote stereo controller is via the BCM instead of just being straight to the stereo.

Looking at the drawings I think you need to snip the yellow and violet wires, don't short them out they are the cars PCI bus (edit, make sure the cutter isn't in contact with any car bodywork, the whole car is neutral), cut them one at a time and tape them up. It's probably unhappy at the moment because the radio will be the more modern CAN bus system.

Before you cut anything unplug the new radio and check the dash comes back to life.

I do not believe that it is a limited It has, power everything but I believe the limited came with the Infinity sound and Infinity was a good sounding radio, this one sounded like crap. And it is the CD cassette player but there's not a changer in the car so it was just the head unit a dual DIN. But from what I can tell there's not an app hidden anywhere
