This is the build log for my girlfriend's Liberty. I am going to improve sound quality and add a little flash & style without taking up all cargo room as she drives it everyday and we use the Jeep to go on trips.

Equipment List:

Head Unit: Kenwood Excelon KVT-696 Flipout w/ Navigation

Front Speakers: Hybrid Audio Technologies Clarus 6.5" Components

Rear Speakers: Hybrid Audio Technologies Imagine 6.5"

Amplifiers: Powerbass XAX-4160 & XAX-500D Mini Amps

Subwoofer: 10" DC Level 2

Sound Damping: STP Gold

Security: Viper 5901 Alarm w/ Remote Start

Box & amp rack will be 1 piece with fit trim panel highlighted using LEDs & plexiglass

Spacer rings for speakers. Have since been painted black.

I was able to knock out the begining of the box/amp rack today. Its sitting at a buddy's house right now where we sprayed the face and top of it today. Box is .79 cubic ft and only takes up 6" of cargo room.

Sub in pic is NOT what will be installed, it was the only 10" sub I had here so I put it in for the picture.

Did the Sound Damping work well? I was thinking of doing My wifes 07 limited.

How do you like the speakers you used? I've been wanting to do the same but i cannot figure out what head unit to use as i now have the POS six disc changer one in the dash. To replace the head unit would i need a one din or two din receiver?

1 din. the opening is just 1.5 din altogether. you can do a 2 din but it would require chopping up the bezel. Look at crutchfield.com to find out all you need.
