Think of how much room you'd have if you didn't have to carry all your wood. I'm assuming you stayed in a campground where it was illegal to gather firewood?

Oh, and kudos on the picture of that steak. As a bit of an expert an connoiseur, it looks like it was cooked perfectly.

Agreed! I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of them! :D

More being posted later this evening Jayme!

Yup, got in shit for scrounging a stick for fire poking purposes.
$5.00 for a meager bundle of fire wood...
I spent $60.00 in wood, so we carried it from camp ground to campground

Lesson to all: Buy wood from the private people who sell at the side of the road!

Those were actually "Extra Meaty/Extra Beefy" Ribs from Safeway, $10.00 per rack and were killer!

Thank you, they were perfectly prepared by yours truly.

End of September Jen and I are taking my oldest daughter and a load of her friends camping for her 16th B day for 2-3 nights.

Awesome pics! Reminds me of when we were there a few years ago. Loved the shipwreck and Ft. Stevens. I think one of those big rocks in the ocean is Goonie's rock where some of the movie was filmed. Beautiful place, can't wait to go back.

Yup, that rock was in the Goonies... The Goonies house is just North in Astoria, OR.

Looks like a blast! (ah even on sand in salty ocean)
What is the story about the boat recovery? Loose a pin or came off hitch or what?
I guess you can say the winch got christened!
Great scenery, and the food I miss...good cooking going on there, like normal I see.

Alice Lake just past Squamish is way nicer, quiet, away from highway, and no Squamish winds off the ocean. Alice lake also has a circle trail all the way around! 60 campsites open...both sites are $30 per night!

I might be able to do it..but RAIN? I wont be sleeping in a tent. RV or hotel for this guy in Oct in the mountains.
Ps: There is also comfortable 4 person cabins available at Porteau Cove.
Either way I could drop in there, wish Cooper a Happy 16th and, we could share a few Mouton's, and I could still head home later or ?
