This doesn't make sense. The battery clearly states 60 months warranty (5 yr battery) but when it started coughing blood, I took him back to the local Strauss where I bought it. Testing robot clearly showed "Bad Battery", it had been failing to start for few weeks now, but was getting worse and worse with the colder weather. Finally not holding on a daily basis.
Strauss said they don't carry AC Delco batteries anymore, so they would give me something else. I say OK, and they check and tell me the battery only has 18 months free replacement, and prorated after that, and I would have to pay $21 for the replacement, plus installation $8. He says on the battery it states 18 months, I told him to look at the battery, which says 60 months. He claims AC Delco only gives 18 months replacement, rest is prorated. He fails to show where this is stated, although his original receipt states "after free replacement period, it is prorated, etc.."
Anyway, I can't drive without a battery, so I told him whatever, and also the manager there, but it sounds like ********. I will contact AC Delco tomorrow and I will also complain to Strauss directly. I don't mind if they specifically state there is only 18 months replacement period and then charge me, but don't sell me something with 60 months on it, and then claim it is actually only 18 months, and then replace it with a crappy battery.
