Hi Guys and Gals,

I have an '05 with the RBQ. I'm curious the best way to have satellite radio integrated well into the vehicle. I ran a search and saw one guy had the little unit for the satellite radio in the small pocket beneath the radio. That wasn't bad, but I'd rather something be built into the radio itself. I'm completely fine with replacing the entire radio.

Is there any Jeep factory radio I can install in my 05 that allows satellite radio (at this point I don't think it matters if its XM or Sirius)?

Thank you
A

Most Chrysler radios can integrate with mopar's sirius kit, but it's prohibitively expensive, especially with much cheaper and better alternatives out there. If I'm not mistaken, your RBQ could get a "sirius upgrade" with mopar's kit for $300-400. This would be the same for most factory radios. It requires cabling, a box in the cargo area behind the trim, and drilling a hole in your roof for the HUGE antenna it provides.

With most factory radios, you're limited to what you can see on the display. The RB1 gives a more complete display, while the RB4 either can or can't, depending on who you talk with.

Aftermarket radios are a good choice because you can choose XM or Sirius (or both in some cases) and have premium sound with full control and display from the headunit. It pays to actually demo the units you want first. I bought a pioneer that seemed to have all the features I wanted, but when it got here, it only shows one line of sirius info at a time on its large display.

I had the OEM radio taken out and an Alpine CDA-9886 (50W x 4 Apple® iPod, Satellite Radio, HD Radio-Ready CD Deck installed with XM. Still waiting for the Alpine TUA-T550HD Tuner to reach the marketplace. It seems to be on pre-order forever.
