Hey, let me catch you real quick with an inquiry.. when ordering from Marlin, does he often ship the OME spring sets separately from other parts on the same order? It seems that may be happening with my order ...

Yes he does, depending on what he has right there on the shelf, well ( IN STOCK )
Some things come straight from ( dealer) to you while other things from him to you
For instance while I was there working we would see what they had in stock, ship them and then send order to warehouse for the rest

To cause a severe jounce problem like he's describing.. man.. I don't know, you'd almost think he was on a set of really soft, springy coil springs.. the way it's described, I've only ever seen that when the rear shocks were totally blown out (or not installed) and the rear was just sitting on the coils alone.

None of this makes sense.

This is exactly what it is like, blown or no shocks.
But with old stock length shocks it rides great.

I am going to double check the rear suspension tomorrow to make sure everything is tightened and put back on properly.

Would the OME 60069 rear shocks work with rear at 21.5'' or do I need the N132L?
It is a daily driver. Don't plan on going offroad.
JBA's lists both of these shocks for 1.5'' plus lift. I feel safer going with the 60069 since I've not had good luck with the longer shocks.

The 60069 are for stock or inch lift
132Ls are for a lifted one
Marlin just posts up what ARB-OME says in their literature to CHA , ( cover his butt )

Plus just thinking, how far have you driven any that you have installed ?
For example the Monroe Coilovers are a bit some would say bouncy for a few miles till they settle in or you load them down like I always am
Its not bad and I never really noticed it but some have

Everyone we lifted here ( well almost everyone ) was taken out, twisted up , hit a few bumps and settled in good before we did anything

With the Bilsteins we drove down some bumpy roads maybe eight miles or so. I've never had new shocks or even old worn out ones bounce as much as either pair I tried.

I was a little bored today, so just to see what would happen, I made some 2'' shock extensions for the rear. I attached them to the lower shock mounts and bolted the shock to them. I took it for a test drive and it rode great.
I just wanted to make sure it was not the length of a 24'' shock that somehow was making the rear end so bouncy. It did give the stock shocks 2'' of extra travel before being fully extended.
I am still at a loss and can't decide on which shocks to try to order next. I am leaning towards OME 60069 or N132L.

Not two inches of extra travel, and with that set up, you need to run more bump stop ( 2 inches extra )
and as I stated 132Ls are for lifted

Yes you are correct. It gave me two inches of extra downward travel only. A total of 3 5/8 inches instead of 1 5/8 inches.
I already have two inch bump stops (rubber mallet) bolted to the lower spring perch as well as brand new upper ones.
I did removed the shock extensions, they were only for a test.
I know the 132L's are for lifted. I do listen to you and appreciate all your input. I'm just afraid to get the 132Ls and have the same problem as I had with the Bilsteins and Monroes. I can't have a bouncy rear in the wifes Liberty.

If you are afraid the 132Ls would be bouncy the 60069s would be as well, same basic shock, just the 132Ls are longer for a lift

So far stock length (22'') shocks are ok. The two longer sets (24'') were bouncy.

I guess I will get the 132Ls and if they don't work I will try to find someone who needs a set.

That's good news, I was thinking I was the only one to have this issue.
I am going with the 132Ls.
Do the 132Ls have a stiff ride? That's what I want.

We are gathered here today, the last part of January to come together in the Jeep KJ world, to help and back one of dear friends who is making a making a hard choice.
We all hope that his choice is the right one, that will allow him to ride the roads of life smoothly and safely with no more bounce . Let him know the hardships that we sometimes face when building these fine vehicles are short lived , but also know the satisfaction and the joys when it all comes together.

Please let these be the ones...

Tom, do you suppose the Monroe spring supported shocks would stiffen him up in back? That's what I ordered for mine... and I've used them on "bouncy" big cars and an old Ranger year ago and found that it did just that.. in fact, on the Ranger they were TOO STIFF.
