I had the rear wander as well. Replaced the UCA with the bolt 4 link from JBA and Mopar rear lower control arms. First few weeks the wander was much better but now its coming back. I'm convinced that the rear lower control arms are the culprit with their bushings being the weak link. Someone needs to start making short arms with solid bushings.

You raise a good point. I forgot our KJ had the rear LCAs changed to boxed ones on a recall notice.

Been following on fakebook, worn out bushings in no time it seems on the ones that have installed that setup.
Just stating whats out there , I keep up on everything new that comes out no matter who is making it/ using it.
I would like to know if the Grand owners are having the same wear issues.
Not pointing fingers just the truth is all, if you think I'm biased well you don't know me at all my friend
Have to remember that I was invited up to the BDS build shop when they were finishing the KJ.
Discussed KJ/KK lifts with the owners while I was there and why they didn't produce a better kit than they do, in talks now with another suspension company.
OH well, some have to dislike someone so I'm your huckleberry :happy175::happy175:
Dang everyone these days are way too serious , none of are getting out alive so lets have fun:gr_grin:

I'm not saying I don't like you. Or you don't know what you're talking about. I'm saying that I'm trying something new. With known problems. And I've stated this all before. I knew Ricky was having bushing issues long before I got myself into this.

This is not my DD.
This mod is experimental.
I want to see if I can make it work. If I can, I will spread info. Notice how I never created a thread saying "this is my UCA setup and this is the best thing since sliced bread." I know it's not perfect yet.

I don't intend to spread false or inaccurate information. There's already tons of that out there for our Jeeps.

bushings were a known issue no matter the vehicle application, the flex joints seem like a good solution and good quality but only time will tell

i couldnt see any play in mine and i had removed and inspected them a few months ago, but that was before the wandering so maybe ill have to check again.

also on all the set ups ive seen with the IRO arm , none use the jam nut. Does it create too much space to fit properly ?

Depends on the bracket...but the short answer is that is correct. The Jam nut would force the joint to be extended too far for our application.

Sorry for the double post...but when I replaced my LCAs because of swaying issues the bushings SEEMED fine. Looked pretty good actually. But alas, after replacing the swaying went away. Side to side sway is almost definitely caused by LCA wear.

Mine had some wandering issues not long ago. Crawled around and checked everything. Ended up rotating the tires and it went away. Tires are ending the end of their life so I chalked it up as the tires wearing odd.. Even though they look like theyre wearing ok.

well part of the problem was the rear ironman shocks, complete junk straight from the box. i realize what they are supposed to feel like now that i have bilsteins on there. Think the ironmans had a leak from the start. And the clunking and rattling is gone thats been there since day 1
