Just wanting to get all the info from the computer. Would be cool if diagnostics comes with it though! \:D/

I've been toying with the idea of a carputer myself.

Still in the thinking stages though...

I know this is way old, but for an FYI - I have Autotap for the GM enhanced parameters, and it's great! Just remember, it's a diagnostic tool....can't edit the computer with this tool.

I have the Palm PDA version. Used it numerous times on my Prix. You can scan just about anything. Also nice because the log comes out in an .csv (excel) file, so you can customize graphs.

Well, to power the thing, you will need an inverter (i recommend 400w +) unless you have some awesome batteries.

Which is why I love Autotap running on a PDA :D

Realistically, you'd only be logging for a short while. Not like you'd log 24/7, only when there's a problem or something you wanna know. If your laptop lasts more than 15-20 mins, you're golden (from my experience)

Kinda frightening to know that the ECM keeps info like that...

ECM doesn't necessarily "keep" that info (black box does), but it runs it. With my Autotap I can see how much I am on the gas (throttle position sensor), vehicle speed, ignition timing, engine RPM, degrees of knock ******, and about 100 other parameters that I'd chose. I think I can only log 12 simultaneously.
