Do you mean using a set made for a JK?

They make them for the JK, CJ, TJ, XJ and not sure what else, $400 for a set and some modding if you knew what you are doing sounds much better than $1200 to me.

I think the amount of fabrication to fit an XJ headlight might be a bit crazy but with the others they are 7" round so I'm sure it could be done. Just need to fabricate a bracket or something since the KJ housing is larger than 7". That is where I basically ended it when I was looking in to it.
