I have never run them so I can not say
I have run cheep tires in the past and as long as you stay off the rocks and avoid the roots they work just fine

why are you comparing an AT with an MT ,apples and oranges
the BFG will basically suck off road compared to the Dunlop
it is all about the space between the lugs and the Dunlop has more
and trust me people will get tired of dragging you butt up every hill if you go off road with the BFG AT
I know I sure did last time I went wheelin
got so aggravated that I got out of line and into a different spot ,guy would not take a by pass and then end up all sliding off the hill and needing a strap

Dunlop is a good tire have ran and sold lots of them back in the day

Great man thanks!!!

Since I'm not doing too much off roading and when I do is not extreme, I'm just gonna get tires a little cheap than. Bfg, also, finally somebody said something bad about the at ko and got me out of thinking they where the only tire out there.

Just a little FYI or FWIW
I tore some lugs off of a Super Swamper LTB on a level 1-2 trail on a
1-5 scale
yet there are guys who have run the same trail 100X and never had damage to very cheep MT's that I ripped the side wall out of ,put you hand through hole
twice

Danm!!!

I guess what? They make that tire only in 245/75 not 245/70 so guess I'll have to go with the general grabber AT2

dude the AT2 is a step down from the BFG
IMO if you plan to leave the pavement dont get the AT2 or the BFG AT

I am sure you can get a better tire in a 245/70
or
go with a 225/75
same OD ,with in .2-.3" in most cases
and about 1" less width
many more choices
even some good name MT's come in that size

I do not understand the hate on for BFG A/T tires.
I have been on trails and logging roads where trucks with dedicated "Mud tires" had their tires sliced open from razor sharp shale off the road bed!
Razor sharp chunks of shale finding their way in between those wide open lugs of "Mud tires"!
Not my BFG A/T's they along with the other folks I wheel with just laugh!
CJ's, Toyota Land Cruisers, Bronco's, etc.
Don't make a difference what make of model mud tire, the BFG A/T's were and are King in these parts!
Work really good in the thick mud as well.
The old saying "It's not what you have, but it's how you use it" comes to mind!

I hear you loud and clear!
Those damn tires here in B.C. run $226.00 for 245-70-16 or $220 for 245-75-16 a piece right now!
I personally am looking at a set of Kumho Road Venture Mud Terrain 245-75-16 for $195.00 each, despite what I mentioned in the past post!
Time for something different!
Or a set of BFGoodrich Mud Terrain T/A KM2 Tires at $246.00 each.
Either way still alot of money here in B.C.!
Dunlop radial mud rover?
Incidentally? The Dunlop radial mud rover sell for $250.00 per tire for a 245-75-16 size here!
So not much of a difference in price between the aformentioned tires
There are times I wish I lived in the USA!

yea but they dont have the 245/70/16

i was looking at the general grabber at2 and it says $50 mail in rebate.....is that per tire ot for the full purchase???

http://www.treadepot.com/tire/15463760000:rolleyes:

Why the hang up on the 245/70?
All you gain is more weight and more rolling resistance
Which = poor mpg
It also makes it hard to get good AT's and MT's
I said it before the 225/75 is just as tall and much more common
That is why I put those out there
Sounds like you are sold on the AT2 not on a tire size
