You guys sound like a bunch of women afraid that you are gonna get your skirts wet....

For God's sake you drive Jeeps damn it, the airbox if freaking made to take water in and dump it right back out, The CRD is no exception. It just has less water crossing ability. Do you crybabies park your jeeps under a damn tent when it rains.

Seriously WTF.

Forgive me for taking care of something I work my ass off for.

I was taught, to clean the engine, make sure it is cold, use degreaser, and use a steady stream. You're not trying to put out a damn fire.

Actually I believe you are wrong on this one miah. Many CRD owners were having problems with the air filter getting wet just driving down the road in the rain.

As is common knowledge, the 2.8L air intake is *not* as waterRESISTANT as the 3.7L intake. I avoided that area as much as I could. I don't want to be the one with the wet air filter...

Turn it off for sure.. If its cold, start it up before you spray it off but only for a few min to warm it up alittle. It helps to dry it off alittle quicker.

Its best NOT to spray a hot engine.

=D> You're pretty quick. Offense intended.

The point is that opinions are great so long as you don't try to claim them to be true.

Miah, I think it's time we had a little chat.

Just because something is not done your way doesn't mean its wrong. Most cases there are several ways to accomplish something and get the same results, and in this case of cleaning an engine, there are quite a few ways.

Yes this thread is "filled with nothing but opinions being passed off as facts" as you put it. But as desertkj has pointed out, your "opinionized fact" is also in this thread. And if you havent noticed yet, alot of this entire board is opinions from others THAT HAVE WORKED. The whole point of this board is for people to get together and share a common interest in Jeeps. When there is a problem, if somebody can help, then by all means they should chime in and not have to worry about people shooting them down with "that's not how I do it, therefore it's wrong" or "that is 100% false", when in reality it's just different from how you did it.

So to sum it up, STOP shooting down people just because they did it a different way than you. If you would like to remain a part of this community you'll knock it off and grow up.

Seriously, who are you lecturing? Its obvious this post is just you fishing for approval from other people, if you were serious you would have PM'ed me.

I appologize for my bluntness, I just get angry when people express "their way" as, not necessarily the right or only way, but as an acceptable way; when it is not, causes more work than necessary, or doesn't accomplish as much as other ways. Uninformed individuals get confused and lose their way as a result. If you want to chastise me for tryng to stop that, then I will take it.

Its not as if my personality is a suprise to you guys, nothing I say is meant to be shooting down or too opinionated.
But hey, even friends get in arguements, and passion for your own ideas is what makes you human.

I'm not looking for approval from other people, I dont need approval. I specifically didn't PM you because I wanted everybody else to see what I said, as you have shot down many of their ideas, and rather quickly. Do you have a problem with this being out in the open? I refuse to battle this via PM's...this will be fought right here, right now.

BINGO! Why are you getting angry if somebody else found a different way to do something, and it's still acceptable!? So what if it's not the easiest or quickest way. Sometimes it pays off in the long run to do things the long way. Maybe that person chooses to do what ever it is they're doing in the long ass backwards way. if it makes them happy by all means, let them do it. And if they feel they would like to share it with others, go right ahead.

GG EPIC lose.

How am I not worthy? Because I do not agree with you?

That is for me to determine, and I don't want to justify it, because it would just be a huge series of flames.
