pretty much worthless really unless you want to push a trailer around in the yard

yea pretty much why I want to set one up myself. that, and with the winch bolted to the front of the jeep on the backbone, it means I can "hitch" up to the trailer and pull the car up on it without having a seperate on-trailer winch setup like I have now.

also would mean if I needed to I could run that basket or something else up front in a pinch.
or make a "holder" to support really long things being carried on the roof.
my point is, it opens up possiblities. :D

Opens up possibilities but as serving as a mounting point for off road winching, scary. Have seen some on other 4X4s that had them bend, cracked etc with slightest off camber pull. Like I said straight on but:shrug:

Wishing I could of got a picture of the KJ going down interstate with a front basket on. Loaded clear across with coolers, that thing couldn't have been much more than 16.5 -17 inches in front if that, basket way low. Had bags of I suppose clothes tied to the top in trash bags pulling a trailer with no lights, fenders etc with 2 dirt bikes on it :icon_lol:
I felt like I was sitting 2 foot above them when I went by
