Does anyone know what size bolt or what part number is used to attach the sway bar ends on the front end?

Might not hurt to take the sway bar off so you can bring the other bolt to a hardware store or something, and match one up......just a thought.

x2 (well, just the link section anyway). Guess you might have found the source of your noise?

One other thing, the bolt is only threaded about 1" back, then has a solid shaft going thru the bushing. You could get away with running a fully-threaded bolt for a few days if need be but I would get a replacement from the dealer ASAP. You might be able to find a suitable replacement at Autozone, Checker, etc. in the section where they sell the aftermarket swaybar bushings and such.

I just tried to get the other one off and it doesn't look like it is going anywhere anytime soon. I tried everything from a socket wrench to hitting a regular wrench with a hammer and it is not budging. I don't have any air tools either.

I was going to say that you could take the other side off but since it wont come off. Do you have a bigger ratchet? I usually use a 1/2in drive ratchet on those. They should be torqued to 100ft lbs.

There is a washer on there also if you didnt notice. Its kinda in an odd spot but its there.

I cant figure out what size it is..

Never mind, I got it off. After I get back with the part, I will post up pics and the bolt size so that it is on the website for future reference.

x2 on the PB Blaster....that is some awesome stuff.

Do you have a longer socket and a bigger drive? If you can get enough leverage on it, try using your foot and just practically stand on the SOB to get it off.....always works for me.

edit: well never mind then....

A really easy way would be to ask the jeep dealer parts dept. I used to do that all the time because I never really had much luck matching auto bolts up at the hardware store. :)

Yeah, I am going to do that this week. They are closed on Sundays and I need my Jeep to get home so I needed a quick fix. The guys at Checker Auto Parts helped me out and got a close enough bolt that should hold.

Part #06503712. Checked the parts catalogs for both '03 and '05 and it is the same, so it's probably that way across all years (except '08 :p ).

Glad you got it fixed.
