Got rid of the auto door locks....But...

I had the local dealership disable the auto door locks some and other ding dongs on the computer this weekend. Marvelous!

Now my Missus says she misses the lights flashing when she locks and unlocks the car with the fob.

The book says the lights can be programmed in by using the four steps outlined on "Things to know before starting your vehicle" (page 24 in the glove box book)

Step four has me baffled, "Repeating steps 1-3 will restore original transmitter operation."

Does this mean?????

What does it mean? As I sure don't want to program those stupid auto door locks again. any interpreters out there in KJ Country.

I'm not sure I understand what you had disabled. Are you talking about the automatic locking feature that kicks in once you hit 15mph? If so, I wasn't aware that they could disable that.....didn't think alot of people hated it, I personaly like it...but anyways.

step 4 means, you do the same procedure to enable or disable the lights. If you want them off, follow the method given. if you want them back on again, follow the same method in the same order as before.

On your fob, press and hold the lock button for 5 seconds - at the 5 second mark also press the back window button - then release both.

It works on my 02.
