The oem kit that I found is. I gotta stop by the dealer today so I might as well ask.

The HD fan & shroud in the pic is aftermarket - when I did this mod the OEM kit was already discontinued. I'll try to find the kit I bought and post it here.

EDIT: So the fan/shroud I bought is still available for $162 on eBay (let the flaming begin...) but it is more expensive than the kits on RockAuto. Thing to watch out for is the number of pins on the electrical connector - my KJ uses two pins for the electric fan but yours may use three. Here's the kit I purchased for mine. There are cheaper HD fan/shroud kits available on RockAuto.com with both two and three pin connectors. Scroll down and look for those that have HD Cooling in the description. Can't vouch for the quality of the RockAuto kits as I haven't used them.

It's on the other thread. If they don't have it at the dealer I will just get it from there. I decided this needs to be done haha. Though I can't do a ****** cooler due to the manual transmission but that's ok

I just added the HD cooling mechanical fan with a hayden heavy duty fan clutch. The strange thing was that my liberty already had the HD cooling shroud from the previous owner. Now that I have HD cooling my liberty finally sound like a beast.

I just added the HD cooling mechanical fan with a hayden heavy duty fan clutch. The strange thing was that my liberty already had the HD cooling shroud from the previous owner. Now that I have HD cooling my liberty finally sound like a beast.

Just wait till the fan clutch goes bad, alls you'll be able to hear at low speeds is the fan noise

Hey 2 Bobs! What radiator are you running? Are you running an OEM '02 radiator or aftermarket? I want to set the Jeep up to haul some major cargo so the fan is on the spring list. Radiator might come down the line too (even though i just replaced mine with a stock OEM one, no in radiator trans cooler).

TwoBobs this might be a dumb question but what type/size hosing did you use for the trans lines? I need to replace the leaking flexible sections in my stock lines.

I have a Mopar from an '02 so it came with the integrated trans cooler. Bolted right up to my '03.

TwoBobs this might be a dumb question but what type/size hosing did you use for the trans lines? I need to replace the leaking flexible sections in my stock lines.

Just standard 3/8" transmission hose from NAPA. ;)

Last question! Did it have hooks on the front for the external ****** cooler?

Yep, I don't know if I got an oddball or not but I have the external cooler in front of the rad and the internal one too. I just installed the new '02 OEM, hooked up the front cooler then plumbed in the internal cooler.

Will a Hayden 2905 work with the 3.7 gas engine? Was looking at Rock Auto and Amazon and they both don't have that listed as compatible, just the 2736. Curious before I bite the bullet and start purchasing parts.

the 2905 is for severe duty applications and will not add any extra benefit for the extra cost. the only time you need the severe duty one is when there is extreme engine heat like a crd.

The 2905 is 4 bucks cheaper than the 2736 at Summit Racing where I bought mine.

I've been running the 2905 on my 3.7 KJ for almost three years and it's been perfect. Don't know about not adding any extra benefit - off road the engine heat in mine is pretty severe. The severe duty kicks in at a temp a few degrees cooler than the HD clutch - good insurance in my mind. :waytogo:

Hayden Clutch: 2905 OR 2736

I guess the fan shroud with fan are not available?

From what I can tell...P/Ns are these:

Electric fan for dual fan setup: 52079528AB
Shroud: 52080127AA

Hope this helps. This is still on my to-do list.

If I were you I would get the shroud from a junk yard and just swap over your electric fan, secondly while you are at the junk yard get the fan clutch blade. You will need to bring the fan clutch remover tool and the water pump holder tool to take off the clutch fan assembly.

I'm pretty sure the electric fan for standard cooling is different than the HD electric fan. Fits differently in the shroud.

The eBay shroud and fan have been going great for almost exactly 4 years now. I still keep the standard cooling shroud and fan around. Sometimes I'll swap it back in during the winter - no good reason, just for giggles I guess. :gr_grin:

X2 my fan and shroud work great. Actually too well in the winter sometimes.

In the winter I actually just turn on electric fan off and then turn them back on in the summer, keep in mind that I have a digital read out of the coolant temperature and turn the fans back on if there is a problem.

It's a very different fan.

My only qualm about putting in HD cooling is losing the space to work. Things can be frustrating enough to do on the Jeep.

But it's no longer a DD and simply a weekend warrior/mobile toolshed. So it might fit the envelope more to throw in the HD cooling package.

You do loose space to work, but it's still workable. I get the oil filter from the bottom. Taking the fan out is a PIA to do anything belt related.

Really? Since I cut the bottom of the shroud I can pull mine out in 60 seconds. Learned how to quick since I can only get my oil filter that way.
