Insurance companies do LOOOOOOOONG inspections on vehicles that have fires that start in the electrical system.
If you have full coverage insurance on your Jeep, and it burns to the ground, they will inspect it, and if they faulty parts/wiring installed by the owner, they WILL deny your claim.
...and if someone else is hurt.... maybe someone parked next to your KJ and yours catches fire on the freeway in traffic...there won't be enough money in the world after the lawsuits for you to buy a bicycle.

I hope you all are not pulling power from the data link connector,1st it is illegal and can short the PCM/BCM/TCM and other pricy computers.Will fail most inspections and may cause issues when a tech is trying to diag another issue.

i'm pretty sure the only tap i made there was for the bus....i made my power connections at the fuse panel, and used the factory ground point just behind the driver's kick-panel.

I tapped the BUS at the OBDII connector also... No worries, i made a good connection thats soldered and insulated. You would have to tear apart everything to see the added wiring back in the dash. And i have used my scan tool to verify the port was still working fine after doing so.

No worries...

Oh mighty knowledgeable Troy, if the OBD port is the wrong place, then where do we hook our evic up to??
Because I hooked mine up according to the how-to with no problems.
Only downside to how I wired mine was I have to turn my radio up a little bit louder now.

What? Why would you have to turn the radio up more?

I changed the 30 back to a 15 and have been on it all day today and it blew yet..so im thinking the other one was just getting old....

You didn't disconnect the battery when you installed your EVIC, did you?

You probably shorted something while you were working on it.

ok well how the hell can you find a wire that is hot with the key on if the battery aint hooked up...now you tell me that answer?

You probe for the wire, then disconnect the battery when you actually splice into it.

well ok again...my test light stopped working and i didnt find that out untill i tore everything apart!!

Does it F!UCKING matter now....i mean F!UCKING a....the F!UCKING thing is working the fuse hasnt blew yet and the F!UCKING fuse is a 15 now!!!!!
