I might be getting some extra $$ from my work, and I am planning to sell about 20-30 movies and 50 CDs on ebay. All of them great, so I am thinking at least $200-$300 from those, and with what I'd have from job, $700 ~ $750 extra TOTAL.

I have several picks, let me know what I should do, along with your suggestion on it. I don't off-road, so lift kit, etc is not there.

tint job, scratches, throw the rest in a high yield savings account and save it for something more useful than those other mods. I have always been a fan of if it isn't broken, don't fix it, and to me the rims and stereo the Liberty comes with is just fine. Did you ever find those roof rails?

Re- Roof rails-- No I caved, and actually thought without the door trim accents, silver/shiny roof rails would look odd. So I let that go. Just like you said, it ain't broken, so why get it fixed.

The sound system is OK but needs more bass, so I was thinking of subwoofer as priority.

I voted for tires. But then you'd have money left over so get a buffer and get the scratches out. You said you needed the tires anyway. Then you'll feel better with the scratches out and new tires. The rims you have on it now are nice anyway.

You forgot the option where you write it out in a check, and mail it to me.

If a check doesn't work, I can swing paypal :D

I'd say tires and rims. just to do justice to the jeep more. Im not a fan of the shiny ones you have. scratches, you park in the street, it's gonna come back. tints, maybe, but it's illegal to have the fronts tinted in NYC (i know ppl still do it) but it might just be a hassle. Sub, yeah, good 2nd option.

I'd go w/ the tires/rims.....

Yesterday I stopped by circuit city, and they got this new MTX slim sub, it was pretty good, but it wasn't wired!!

Also I stopped by the tire shop, those grabbers they had- looked great, and also they had some great michelin tires for on-road, but non of them were on 17".

Also I see people with tinted fronts every day, I have no idea how they get away with it, but they have it. I mean those people might not be parking on the street, but I doubt they can ticket you while on the street without actually proving the light pass percent.

Although tire+rim is there, but it looks like it will be pretty pricey, even with cheapest rims, since I would never leave the spare unmatched. AND if i get rims, they would be 16 or 18, not 17 so I can get some better tires. That dude who just posted 18 with grabbers had them going for me......

I voted to tint the windows and bank the rest. Do you do have any stock or IRA funds? I know it sounds silly now to bank whatever you can but in the future you won't be disappointed.

I think you should do what you want to do hyedipin. Youve been talking about getting those windows tinted for ALONG time. I would get the legal amount on the front windows and windshield. Im not sure on laws and if you can get any tint at all. Vent visors are a nice touch. Youve been talking about a sub alot lately and you can find subs that are affordable and sound great.

Tires are more than needed since I know what the HP's are like.

Ryan, with those lights... hello startrek enterprise!
I am down with new lights, but they are hell to find, and if I end up replacing the tails and turns I have to get regulators so they blink fine, as for the headlamps, I failed to find a perfect white headlamps that will last longer than stocks, or will keep the high beam functionality.. so I scratched that idea a long time, unless there is someone I can copy exactly from, with proven functionality.

Phil, thanks for the suggestion, I was thinking of IRA but when I thought about it, it is really nothing more than taxable savings, whereas I could keep the money on high apy savings and get more back. I didn't get the point where IRA ROTH or traditional -- I don't get the part, it is either Deductable+Taxable OR NonDeductable+NonTaxed.. so what's the point. You are actually risking your money just in case the taxes increase by the time you want to use that money. Unless what is deducted is less than what's taxed!? This is another topic..

Blake, right on, but with all those stuff, forget about the money coming my way, I would most likely go broke!! :( I just would have to prioritize- pleasure or functionality which is the tires vs sub+tint.

You know, I actually felt depressed for the first time since I had my jeep from hearing all these commercials about benz with 25mpg and toyos and honda trucks with 30mpg, thinking of all the money I could be savings. Please forgive me jeep--- even thinking about this feels like betrayal.

I know what you mean. Sometimes I wonder about people buying all those libertys with the mpg they get. Since Im a college student, I dont drive mine that much so gas isnt a issue for me. I wouldnt be able to afford it if I had to drive the Jeep daily and get gas every week or so..

Also, the parents have that corolla that I drive alot when Im home.. That little thing gets 28-30mpg..

Hello,
Our mileage has actually gone down a fair bit since I last quoted.
I've been driving it with a lead foot lately! So there went my mileage, but the fun factor went up in exchange!

I'm sorry, I still think the Liberty is extremely fuel efficient for what it is.

Use the money for gas :)

That was a good one!

Ryan, I agree.. I drove mine straight for about 150 miles and was amazed at the mpg, such a difference on miles on a tank.. but fun factor is zero without flooring it man..
