Hi, I just registered with the forum a few days ago after buying my Liberty. I bought a '02 Limited Blue used from a dealer. First I have a few questions. I talked to a Chrysler parts guy and he told me I wouldnt be able to use the Renegade Light Bar. Is that True? I also want to get some Running boards and or Nerf Bars(I think thats what they are called) What brands and materials should I look for? Also Im looking for some off-road areas in Northern Virginia. Anyone know of any? Sorry for all the New Guy questions, but you all seem really nice. Thanks in advance.

Welcome aboard. I might be able to help with is the lightbar question. Since you have the limited trim package, you probaly have heated seats. As I understand it, the stock lightbar can not be used if you have the heated seats.
As for running boards and such check out jparts.com

look down by where you'd recline a normal seat, you should see some controls for what are probably powered seats...you should find a button for the heated part if they are in fact heated.

Ohh and where are my manners.....(welcome) to the site! \:D/

heated seats were an option...I have an 02 Ltd, w/ non-powered seats....
as far as the rocker panel protection..boulderbars are or is a popular choice...u dont want running boards....they are usually plastic, and will reduce ur clearance...and wont offer any protection at all

oh and welcome aboard

Heated seats

You should still be able to run the light bar with heated seats. Some one over one the LOST forum ( http://www.lostkjs.com/forum/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=4810 ) tried to order an new KJ with heated seats and a lightbar. It wasn't a factory build option, which made the dealer hesitate to add one. So, we need a guinea pig and finally got one in evileHOMER. He has an 03 Limited with heated seats and just added the light bar. Everything works fine. Here's the link: http://www.lostkjs.com/forum/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=5193.

If you want to stay stock with the running boards/nerf bars search for Mopar Tubular Side Steps. Any new Mopar items can be bought at a 15% discount and free shipping on orders over $75 at www.jparts.com.

How would the heated seats have an affect on the light bar ? (Aeh)
A Painless Wiring Block from Geno's Garage would be the ticket.

Seats & light

I think the assumption was that they're both on the same fuse (a 15 amp) and having them both on at the same time would cause the fuse to blow. But it's already been proven flase, so the rumor needs to stop here.
