2002 Rene 208,700. New long block at 195,000, Rear control arms, radiator, and basic maint. Need to look into suspension work next. Thought about doing a simple lift but probably go all OEM due to things I have heard from the shops having camber issues and eating up tires.

Your shops don't know what they are talking about then, need a new shop to go to.:icon_lol:
Properly setup full spring lifts DO NOT eat up tires nor do you have camber issues
If you wore out tires lifted why do my Duratracs have over 85,000 on them ( lifted over 4 inches)

He's been misinformed obviously, but my guess is his idea of a simple lift is not the same as yours (ie. spacer lift). Either though should not eat tires with a proper alignment after.

142,000 miles on 2002 Liberty Sport with 3.7L, new steering rack & pinion, K&N Air filter, rebuilt engine at 108,000, new throttle position sensor, new hood shocks, new running light, looks and runs great!

2003 Liberty Limited - 175,000 miles

Original engine - runs fine, no sludge. Replaced original leaking valve cover gaskets. That's it on the engine. Replaced trans at 174,000 due to failed torque converter clutch. Original trans still working but TCC gone so replaced trans with 84k trans.

Made 154000 in my '02 limited mostly stock few alternators due to the sound system and add a flowmaster at 150k never sounded better love my kj change the oils regular never had too many problems oh yea the one stresser i push a clean under carriage i paint and rust proof once a year rust is a killer

142k now. She just survived a 3,000 mile week to New Orleans, around the city, and back. Switched her to Mobil 1 10w-40 high mileage. I'm hoping that helps my consumption issues. If not, I'll just have to deal with filling her every once in a while!

yes burning a lot or?? At 215,000 mine goes through maybe 1/4 to 1/2 half quart now in 3-3500 miles still not bad although there is a small trace of smoke in startup now

Oddly enough it varies. It barely burned any in the last 1500 miles but i've also seen it go through a quart in the same length. I think it's burning less because I replaced the burned oil with 10w-40. Gonna have to keep an eye on it. Hoping this helps!!

I just put in a new MOPAR PCV and that seem to have accelerated the oil consumption.
I was 1200 miles into my 3k OCI, lost almost a quart, around 6/8-7/8 of a quart.
running 5w-30.

It's not burning oil and no leaks. I don't see black smoke during start up.
I've yet to do a compression test. Will do that in July after I sort out my transfer case stuck plug.

Keep us up to date on the 10W-40 oil. I'll have to consider it.
I'm in AZ so 10W-40 oil all year round shouldn't be a problem.

Oil consumption

Just found this on the web: since 2004, the Toyota Camry owner's manual has included what many owners would consider a surprising specification: It says the Camry can consume up to 1 liter of oil per 1,000 kilometers, or 1.1 quarts per 600 miles

I worked 42 years in the auto industry and a new engine's oil consumption had to be worse than 1 quart per 600 miles before it would be replaced under warranty. No consumer wants to hear that but it was and apparently still is the policy. That is why manufacturers owners manuals call for checking the oil at each gas fill up. Now that rate of oil consumption is rare, but it can happen due to tolerance stack ups. So, if you check your oil often and top off as needed, drive in peace. If all of a sudden your oil consumption rises rapidly, look for a cause. A gradual increase in oil consumption over the miles is not a crisis. Just remember, unless the consumption is worse than 1 quart/600 miles, it is in new car specs!

I switch to 10w40 around this time of year usually helps with oil consumption but i still put at least a quart in between oil changes. I dont see any smoke driving or on start up. i cant seem to figure it out.
