Hola,
Purchased an 02 Sport to cruise around Puerto Rico, many roads are not accessible to cars.
Love the 02 Liberty - even though it is 2wd.
Besides minor issues that I've fixed, two have ticked me off pretty good.
First, 2wd in sand does not work. Got stuck on the beach for 6 hours digging and pushing with my girlfriend. Solution - bought TruTrac and will install shortly. Will update on how well it works in sand, but sounds good from what I have read and should help.
Second, the timing chain has the rattle at around 800rpm. It goes away at higher and lower rpm. The best answer I have come up with from doing research is the hydraulic tensioner does not have enough oil pressure to quiet the chain at this low rpm. Will try this - lower viscosity oil/or can of marvel mystery oil to clean oil passages. I have been using 10-40 which is probably too high. And wouldn't be surprised if passages have been gunked up.
Any thoughts? Thanks
