How do I replace a wheel stud

This is for the front passenger's side hub. I have searched and it looks like the studs can be hammered/pressed out the backside of the flange. I looked around and the backside of the flange looks really tight. I mean, there is almost no room between the flange and the hub body. Getting broken studs out is no problem. But, has anyone been successful pressing new studs in from the backside without disassembling the hub?

Use a flat nut,lug nuts are tapered,some washers and draw the stud up snug.

So I assume this can be done with the hub assembly still on the Jeep?

Yes you can remove and reinstall with it on. I have changed out almost all my studs.
You need a bfh to knock them out then pick up new ones from the dealer. They are only about $7 each. If you get the ones from napa or autozone you will have to work a little more at they are a few microns larger. Yes I have a lot of xp in these lol. I have even made my own when needed.
Slide it in the back and use a spare lug to pull it threw. You will want to have a few extra lugs as they will usually get jacked up after a use or two.
Super easy. If you have a hard time getting the stud inserted, lack of room just rotate the hub. You may have to lift the whole front or rear to do this. Easy.

Holy crap, that was so easy. I had a couple of flat chevy lug nuts laying around, so I put them on and hit the wheel studs out with a 5lb hammer. I had to use a steel spare tire to help pull the new studs through because on the new studs, the collar poked through (see pic). If I just used the lug nuts to try and pull it through, the collar would bottom out against the nut. The spare tire had a little recess on the mounting surface and allowed the studs to be seated against the hub.

I’m having this same problem, I bought studs from Advance Auto Parts, and the head will not get past the wheel bearing hub, any suggestions with the slightly bigger heads getting in flush?? Much appreciated!
