Is there an after-market product that covers up

the four short bolts that are now sticking out of

the tailgate door?

(removed to avoid damage from rear
end collisions or possible theft of tire)

Wheel locks will prevent someone from stealing the tire. Why would removing the tire *avoid* damage during a rear end collision???????? 8-[

Damage to the TIRE RIM, brainiac! - try to stop and think when you interpret/reply to posts.(partysmile)

Also: wheel locks will not keep someone from slashing/vandalizing the tire.

It is also personal preference - i do not want my spare on the back of my jeep.

Wow, no need to go on the deep end. I can't read your mind, only how you write your posts. Oh, you forgot to add the problem of someone slashing your tires or else I would not have suggested wheel locks.

and still not even close to getting an answer to a reasonable, normal question.

Well, I dont know you and you may be a good person, but I don't think many people want to help someone reacting the way you are. A little bit of repect goes a long way.

Well, taking into consideration that the same forum member that originally applied
to this question also replied to my first post on the forum with less than polite intentions,
i would say he deserved to be zinged for his disrespect

No apologies.

(deadhorse) HAHAHAHA. You need to take criticism differently. Sorry that I misunderstood your original post. I'm sure someone will chime in with the answer you are looking for. Anyone....

Well, that I know of there is not something aftermarket. You have to remove the bolt, have someone weld them shut, and then go to a bodyshop to have them work on them. One of the guys at L.O.S.T. had it done, USAFCop I believe.

Maybe you can stroll cardomain and check the KJs without rear tire and holder, and ask them what they got. I am thinking it is only held in place by four screws, and they are probably removable from inside, they might have taken the inside cover of the swinggate, and unscrew them, with holes, just cover them up with a piece of sheet and work around it and make it look like flat, I have no idea, but try cardomain.

That is a damn nice ride!
I am a bit limited as to what
i can do to my jeep for now
- it is a lease, so no permanent
customizing is allowed.

We tend to be a "family" here and "respect" each other.

You can cut the studs off if you would like. There is not an aftermarket product to cover these up. My tires on the road get much more abuse than a tire getting hit by a car would take. Take your jeep offroad and you will understand... O:)

First off... common.. Thats not a good start here to react like that. Please just be polite that's all I ask of everybody here. People that do not follow the rules will eventually get booted.[-X

But no there isn't anything available to cover the posts, unless you custom build something.

You could bring them to a body shop and have them removed and have the holes replaced with sheet metal. I know of one guy that has done that.
